Company Terms
Terms governing Companies who use Security Shift UK to source temporary SIA-licensed security cover.
Engagement of Officers
Officers matched via the platform are independent self-employed contractors, not your employees, workers or agency workers. You retain full responsibility as the site occupier for risk assessment, supervision, and statutory health and safety duties in respect of any Officer attending your site.
You must provide accurate shift details, honest site risk information, and reasonable working conditions including breaks, welfare facilities and safe access.
Fees and invoicing
You are charged the agreed hourly rate for verified hours worked plus the platform fee shown at the point of posting. Invoices are issued on shift completion and collected via Stripe. VAT is applied where legally required.
Cancellations
Cancellations 24 hours or more before the rostered start are free of charge. Cancellations within 24 hours of the rostered start incur a charge of 100% of the rostered pay, which is passed to the Officer. This reflects the fact that most Officers cannot secure alternative work at short notice.
Insurance
You confirm you hold appropriate employers' liability insurance (where legally required by reference to your own staff), public liability insurance for your premises, and any sector-specific insurance required by law or contract. Insurance evidence may be requested and must be uploaded before shifts can be posted.
Anti-circumvention
You agree not to engage, directly or through a third party, any Officer first introduced through the platform outside the platform for a period of 12 months from the last shift booked, without agreeing a placement fee with us in advance.
